April 19

Math

We will continue our work with shapes, fractions, and addition/subtraction to 1,000.

Reading

We will continue our work with text features and comparing and contrasting texts.  Our understanding of text features is coming along really well.  Comparing and contrasting texts is a bit more challenging at this time.  If you are looking for a way to help your student at home, Moby Reading Stories supports our learning in this area.

Writing

Students are going to make a slide show that showcases text features.

Classroom Donations

If you would like to donate items to our classroom we could use some mini sized disposable cups and some cleaning wipes.

Support at Home

Read, Read, Read!  Students should be reading each day for 20-30 minutes.  Practicing basic math facts is still critical, especially subtraction.  Using IXL, sections I, J, U, and W will support our work at school.  Reading on Epic or Moby Informational Text will support reading.

Working on fractions.

Step one of our tower making challenge was to get paper to stand.

Step two was to build a tower that was at least 12 inches tall.

Step three was to build a tower that could hold a heavy book.

Students showing me their love!   ðŸ˜‚😄    I have the best job ever and really enjoy your kids!
