NWEA
The testing window opens up on Monday, April 26th. However, 2nd grade will not begin testing this week. 2nd grade teachers are excited about utilizing a new feature of the test that will allow directions to be read aloud. We believe that this will reduce stress; especially on the math test. We take two tests: reading and math. They are about 30-60 minutes each.
Math
This is our last week working with shapes and fractions.
Reading
We will continue our work with text features and comparing and contrasting texts.
Support at Home
Read, Read, Read! Students should be reading each day for 20-30 minutes. Practicing basic math facts is still critical, especially subtraction. Using IXL, sections T, U, and W will support our work at school this week.
